Sunset during the call to prayer in Marrakech
5th row center! With the President of Ireland!
Edible Manhattan has a feature about the most excellent Patti Jackson this month. Rachel Wharton visited us in Dublin a month or so ago, and she and Patti drove down to Cork. Read about their exciting adventures in Ireland!
WABC posted an amazing video of lightning striking the water feet away from a tugboat.

Sometimes it’s easy to miss NYC.
Patti and I are in Glasgow for the weekend. We’re headed up to Loch Ness tomorrow! Maybe we’ll see Nessie! But it’s more likely we’ll try some Scotch.
Patti and I have arrived in Ireland. I’ll be working here for six months for Google; Patti has left i Trulli and will be spending the next six months on sabbatical. We started out the trip right by going to a wedding in Doonbeg, Ireland. We’re staying at The Lodge at Doonbeg, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It’s beautiful; over 200 yards of tidal pools are exposed at low tide; there is a beautiful sandy beach with tons of great shells. We met a bunch of nice folks at the wedding; the food and drink were also fantastic.
First impressions of Ireland:
- The Irish are a friendly people
- Guinness is excellent here
- The food is surprisingly good
I’ll write more later, but we have to catch breakfast!
