This is the largest march over the bridge I’ve ever seen living here
The lights in the background are police cars.
After this group marched down one side, another group marched down the other as well as the center.
Patti’s special at Delaware and Hudson today was a bacon, lettuce, and heirloom tomato sandwich! It was great.
There is a large car crash at the entry to the Brooklyn Bridge at Tillary St. I hope everyone is okay.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses are moving out of DUMBO to north of New York City. They recently sold some major properties. Since we’ve lived just up the street from them, I’ve been able to look out the window at the slogans on the side of their building: “READ GOD’S WORD THE HOLY BIBLE DAILY.” It looks like they’ve decided to paint over one of their slogans.
From today:
From a few month’s ago (the writing is on the middle of the building):

I walked down to DUMBO this morning. It looks like the East River came up into the park, but by the time I got there the river had settled a bit. The current was very strong; it looked like it was almost boiling with whitecaps on the top. I stitched together a bunch of photos; click through the image to see it at Gigapan.
[Updated: added better version of panoramic photo.]
Unfortunately, it’s already starting to turn to rain….
